Hack on the Hill?

Hack on the Hill (HOTH X) is a 12-hour beginner-friendly hackathon designed to be your first hackathon experience. HOTH X will be in-person in Carnesale Commons Palisades Room. We hope to see you there!
During HOTH, you'll get to learn from workshops, receive technical help from mentors, and meet new people while participating in fun social activities. There will be prizes for the best hacks!
Hack on the Hill is an event hosted by ACM Hack. A student run organization, Hack's mission is to help the community to apply their creativity and build amazing things with code. Check out our website to find out more about our quarterly workshops and other events!

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can join?
Applications for HOTH X are open to anyone! However, we are prioritizing UCLA students for our prize tracks as well as in-person hacking.
How many people can I work with?
You can work by yourself or in teams of up to 4 people total.
What if I don't have a team?
Don't worry! You can create one the day of! We'll be leading team building activities before and at the start of the event, so you can find the people you vibe best with.
When is HOTH X taking place? How long is it going to be?
The hackathon will take place on Sunday, March 5, 2023 and it will be 12 hours long. While check-in will begin at 8am and the closing ceremony will end around 11pm, the actual hacking portion will be from 9am to 9pm.
Where is HOTH X taking place?
Currently, we are planning for HOTH X to be in-person with the event taking place at the Carnesale Commons Palisades Room.
How do I sign up?
Hit the apply button above and fill out the application! A few days before the event, you'll be emailed a confirmation form along with appropriate links and additional event information. Applications close on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 11:59pm PST.
What if I have never made a project before?
No worries! Throughout HOTH X, you'll have access to workshops on all sorts of topics to help you start bringing your ideas to life and mentors to support you through any road blocks.
I have coding experience and want to make a difference at HOTH X. How can I get involved?
We would love to have you as a mentor to answer participants' technical questions and help them with their projects. If you are interested, send us an email at uclaacmhack@gmail.com or dm us on our discord server!
